About

The Archaeolab began several years ago, when an archaeologist specializing in prehistoric archaeology, driven by a deep curiosity about people and the societies they create, became a mother. At that moment, she realized that one of the most important things we can, want, and ought to do as parents and educators is to share with children what we have learned throughout our lives. To introduce them to the world through our experiences and knowledge, while also giving them the tools and confidence to learn independently. And to do all this within a non negotiable framework of love and respect for their abilities and emotions.

Today, the Archaeolab family continues to grow and evolve. Our goal is to make archaeology more accessible, engaging, and meaningful by developing ways for it to communicate and interact with the wider public, both children and adults. We open windows to the past through which everyone can observe, reflect, and learn. As a Russian proverb says, “The past is a lighthouse, not a harbor.”

In addition to our archaeological programs, we offer experiential workshops that encourage children to explore and engage with different aspects of human knowledge and creativity. Within this framework, a variety of art and science workshops are organized.

We believe that learning is a natural human tendency and that experience is the most authentic and effortless way to achieve it. We know that the more senses are engaged, the more immediate and meaningful knowledge becomes. We use the study of the past as a tool for understanding the present, and art as a way of experiencing it. Our hope is to provide children with the tools they need to shape their future wisely.

With respect,
The Archaeolab Team
